Idaho Bear Hunts

We are very excited about our bear hunts! Our hunts have a very high success rate!

We have learned a lot about bear hunting over the past years and our hunts have been better than ever! Most of our hunting is done over baits. Each hunter is allowed up to 2 bears; your second bear is an additional $500. Our Idaho area is very remote. On some of our hunts we Jet boat down the Salmon River.

There is little to no hunting pressure on game in this area. It is not uncommon to see any other hunters during your entire hunting trip.

Camp is neat and comfortable with dome tents/wall tents, cots, and a heater.

Black Bear color phases range from Blonde to Cinnamon to Black. After your Bear is harvested, your guide will skin and prepare the hide for the taxidermist.

Traveling Information

All hunters should arrive the evening before their hunt.

Flying    For those of you who prefer to fly, you will fly into Missoula, Montana.   Once you arrive , you will need to notify Ruby's Inn, they are  just 5 minutes from the airport and  will shuttle you to and from the airport at no charge. Please call us when you arrive to let us know you made it.  On the last day of your hunt, we will drop you off at Ruby's and they will shuttle you to the airport the next morning.

There are many motels in Missoula and we highly recommend Ruby's Inn & Convention Center.  You will need to make reservations and let them know you are a hunter with Bitterroot Outfitters so you will be given a special hunters rate.  Please call us when you arrive.  We will meet you the morning of your hunt.  Ask Ruby's about their  free storage for anything you may want to leave behind.  We will then travel to the trailhead jet boat down the Salmon River and then ride into camp on horseback.

Driving    We will meet you the morning of your hunt in Corn Creek Idaho. Directions will be given to you once you book your hunt.  Many of our hunters prefer driving.  This way they do not have to plan arrangements for shipping their bear home.  If you drive, you can park your vehicle at the trailhead for the duration of the hunt.
