Elk
Hunting in the Bitterroot
Bitterroot
Outfitters would like you to consider us for your next hunting Trip!
It takes time to plan for a hunt, with so many outfitters out there,
sometimes it's rather hard to decide who to book with. Along with the
area you prefer to hunt, the second most important thing to look for is
qualified guides. Our guides are all licensed trained professionals. They know how to hunt and
they know the area well, this is very important for a successful hunt. We realize the time, efforts and costs that go into planning a hunt, we want you to feel at ease when booking a
hunt with us!
What
Sets us apart from other Outfitters ~Bitterroot
Outfitters is a combination of 4 former outfitting businesses and is currently
one of Montana's biggest backcountry outfitting businesses in area size. ~We
do not overcrowd our camps. Most of our camps only have 2 hunters per
hunt. We never have more than 4 hunters in a camp. ~We
do not mix hunting parties. ~2
hunters can have their own guide and camp all to themselves.
~Our
wilderness permits allows us to hunt in over 100 square miles.
~The
fires of 2000 burned 300,000 acres of the Bitterroot and created excellent elk
habitat.
~We
are not allowed to harvest spike bulls. This is very important in managing
a trophy elk heard.
~Fish
Wildlife &Park's
last elk count was 6,800 on the Bitterroot Winter Range.
~Unlike
some outfitters, we don not sit around waiting for snow to push elk out of a
park.
~Tom
has been guiding and outfitting for 17 years.
~Tom
is a member of Montana Outfitter and Guide Association and has served on its
Board of directors for 2 terms.
~Tom
has had articles written about him and Bitterroot Outfitters in Bugle, Safari, Eastman's
Journal and Coonhound Bloodlines. Most of our hunters are satisfied,
repeat customers, and they're our best advertisement. Feel free to call
our references and let them tell you what our services are like.
